Scholastic Sprints in support of
A Glimmer of Hope Foundation
This year the Scholastic Sprints will support the work of
A Glimmer of Hope
,
a non-profit organization that funds the only under-forty breast cancer study in the country and is dedicated to finding a cure for this devastating disease. This study is being conducted at Magee-Womens Research Institute in Pittsburgh, PA. For more information, please visit
www.symbolofthecure.com
.
Students Rachel and Maureen Hilton, of Pine-Richland High School, are providing an information and resource booth about breast cancer at the regatta as part of their Girl Scout Gold Award project. The students welcome any suggestions or information that may add to their project. For more information contact Rachel and Maureen at
rowgirl8421@gmail.com
.
Program Information
The Scholastic Sprints program will include a special section this year for notices "In honor of" or "In memory of" loved ones. All the proceeds from these notices will support the research work.
The SS program is also a great place for parents to place an ad in support of their child, for rowers to place an ad thanking coaches or for booster clubs to place ads supporting the team or recognizing seniors.
For more information or to place an ad, contact Cathy Hilton at
cathyarose@gmail.com
or 724-444-3403.
